What bespoke means here

There is no set route to choose from. We start with what matters to you: perhaps a first visit to Japan, time together as a family, or a particular interest in food, craft or local traditions.

From there, we consider how the journey should feel as a whole. Which places deserve more time? Where would a guide add something? When is it better to leave an afternoon open?

Planned personally

You work directly with Joseph O’Flaherty, MoJo’s founder. Based in Nagoya, he has lived in Japan for more than a decade. That perspective shapes the questions he asks and the choices he helps you make, from the pace of a travel day to the experiences that genuinely suit you.

Designed by MoJo, delivered by trusted specialists

MoJo designs and coordinates your journey, considering how stays, transport, guiding and experiences fit together.

The respective hotels, travel companies, guides and experience operators provide their services. We’ll explain which arrangements are relevant to your trip as the journey takes shape.

From first enquiry to a confirmed journey

  1. Tell us what you have in mind. Approximate dates, who is travelling, a few interests and your approximate budget are enough to begin. Please say whether that budget includes accommodation; international flights sit outside the figure requested in our form.

  2. Clarify the scope. Joseph reviews your brief and gets in touch to understand your priorities, discuss what is feasible and establish the appropriate scope before detailed planning begins.

  3. Shape and confirm the details. MoJo develops the journey around those priorities. Ideas, prices and availability remain subject to confirmation. An enquiry or initial proposal is a starting point, not a reservation; we’ll make clear when each arrangement is confirmed.

Is this the right way to travel?

MoJo is for solo travellers, couples, families and small private groups who want their time in Japan considered as one journey, rather than selecting a standard itinerary. You can arrive with a clear wish list or just a sense of what interests you. Either way, an honest conversation about dates, priorities and budget is the place to start.
